The Boycott Israeli Apartheid Campaign urges all supporters of Palestine to
attend the following rally to support the Musqueam nation in the 100th day
of their struggle to defend their land in c̓əsnaʔəm in Marpole from
developers and the Provincial government. Hundreds of years before settler
colonialism in Palestine, Indigenous people here faced - and continue to
face today - settler colonialism, apartheid, and genocide. And just as the
Palestinian people struggle for liberation, Indigenous people on this land
continue to lead their struggle for justice, liberation and
self-determination.

Come out on Friday morning, August 10, to stand with the Musqueam
community, to defend their land, and support this important struggle.
Demand that the Provincial government not renew the developers' permits:

August 10th, 2012 will mark the 100th day of standing vigil over the open
graves of our ancestors. Sadly, not much has changed since the first day.
The Musqueam community has taken action on May 3rd, May 10th, May 29th and
May 31st and still the Provincial Government continues to conduct
themselves in a disrespectful and colonial way.

Since January, the Musqueam community has been asking for these permits to
be rescinded. These permits were set to expire on June 30th. Instead of
allowing the permits to expire, the Province has extended them three times.

The permits are now set to expire on Aug. 15th. The Musqueam community does
not want these permits to be extended again and we want the Province to
take responsibly for the current situation. Many of our community members
and supporters have written to MLA’s and Ministers and they all get the
same answers back: “It’s complicated. It’s private land not crown land and
we have limited jurisdiction.” The Province needs to take responsibility
for issuing the permits and saying “yes” to the developers. It was their
action of approving the permits that led to the graves being unearthed.

100 days is 100 days too long to wait under a bridge for the Province to do
the right thing. We will be taking action on August 10th to show our
frustration with the Province. We are asking all of our supporters to join
us in solidarity.

August 10th (Day100), we will repeat our action from May 3rd (Day 1) and
march from the Safeway at 70th and Granville to 1338 SW Marine Drive (
c̓əsnaʔəm). Each day that passes without the permits being rescinded, we
will add to our Day 100 action. Please check back often and invite your
friends and contacts.

UPDATE Aug7th: The permits were not rescinded today so we are adding
another action.
After the march: we will be closing the Granville St. on/off-ramp to the
Arthur Laing Bridge for an undetermined length of time.

UPDATE Aug 9th: The permits still have not been rescinded so we have added
more action.
We will be taking message to Christy Clark's office via traditional
Musqueam runners. They will carry our petition to her office and the VDP
will provide a poilice escort to ensure our runners safety.

Sum of Us, accompanied with Musqueam members, will deliver their message to
Century Group's office in Delta.

PARKING is available at the Fraser Arms: 1450 SW Marine Dr
We are on the #10, #100, 480 bus routes

Elder's parking is avaliable under the over pass
