Please join us for an open panel session with historical memory workers from
Colombia, Bosnia, Lebanon and Liberia. Panelists will discuss a variety of
strategies to reconstruct historical memory in settings of ongoing violence
or post conflict settings, and their efforts to promote justice and healing
in their countries.
With a change in speakers due to visa issues:
- *Colombia: Jesus Abad Colorado*, Colombian Historical Memory
Commission<http://www.memoriahistorica-cnrr.org.co/>
- *Bosnia: Vesna Terselic*, Documentahttp://www.refugeelawproject.org/
- *Uganda: Moses Okello*, Refugee Law Project
The panel is part of a broader workshop that will bring together
participants from Bosnia, Burundi, Canada, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala,
Indonesia, Peru, South Africa, Uganda and Zimbabwe to discuss the various
memory initiatives in their countries and to develop a toolkit of historical
memory methods that can be used around the world (this portion of the
workshop is closed to the public).
*This workshop is a collaboration between the Transitional Justice Network
at the Liu Institute for Global Issues and the Historical Memory Commission
of Colombia.
