Welcoming the Olympics with a Mass Festival and March!

*The 2010 Welcoming Committee invites you to...*

*TAKE BACK OUR CITY: “**Welcome”** the 2010 Olympic Torch with Free Games,
Free Speech, and Free Food!
Join us in a lively public festival at the Vancouver Art Gallery and a
parade to BC Place Stadium on February 12, 2010, beginning at 3:00 PM. *

 These events are set to parallel the opening ceremonies and the arrival of
the Olympic torch from its Royal Bank and Coca-Cola sponsored relay. As the
Winter Olympics begin, we must show the world our unified message about the
negative impacts of the Games on our communities and the environment.

The 2010 Welcoming Committee is committed to supporting the participation of
parents and caregivers. Here's what we have planned for the kids:

*THE FREE KIDS ZONE...with games, music, theatre, arts & crafts,
storytelling and food!
900 Helmcken Street (at corner with Hornby)
Drop off at 2:30pm
Pick up at 6:30pm

**The Free Kids Zone is organized by the 2010 Welcoming
ChildcareSubcommittee, which is composed of individuals who are
experienced in
providing childcare. We have an on-site medic and ECE capacity in the group;
however, we are doing this work as community members, *not *professionals.
We do not have capacity at this time to provide care for children under two
years old and/or with special needs.

We encourage folks to register ahead of time, but you are also welcome to do
so when you drop off your children.
