The Filipino-Canadian Youth Alliance presents Roots, Rhymes and Resistance!
Back for 2009, under the theme "Root down, Rise up!" addressing the need for
settlement and integration of Filipinos in Canada, and calling for genuine
participation and equality for the community in Canada. 

Since 1999, Ugnayan ng Kabataang Pilipino sa Canada/ Filipino-Canadian Youth
Alliance has hosted RRR as an annual cultural showcase featuring the talents
of Filipino youth. RRR is a venue for margnizalized youth to express and
communicate their concerns with issues such as migration, racism, gender and
identity. Through poetry, song, dance, hip hop, music and art, youth are
able to share their experiences. With cultural forms, they educate and
empower not only themselves, but the community.

SINAG BAYAN CULTURAL ARTS COLLECTIVE
KUYAS IN SOLIDARITY - Teenage spokenword/hip hop duo
TOXIC SLIME CLIQUE - Local Pinoy Hip Hop
FRESH GROOVE DANCE CREWS - world class pinoy hip hop dance crews
RENOVATION UNDER - young up and coming pop punk rock group
