Call-out for participants in a Building Bridges delegation to Mexico
Building Bridges Human Rights Project in Mexico is seeking participants for a
delegation to Mexico in October 2009.
The objective of the delegation to support and accompany the family of Digna
Ochoa y Placido, a prominent human rights lawyer, who was assassinated
in 2001.
The delegation will investigate the status of the case, and commit to
post-delegation activities to pressure the Mexican government to
investigate and
resolve Digna' murder.

Who are the participants:
We are seeking 6-8 participants to will travel to Mexico in
October 2009 for 10
days. Ideally, participants would be bilingual in English is Spanish, but we
are open to accepting non-Spanish speakers. Because we are a grassroots group,
with no government funding, we are asking delegates to fund their own travel
costs. The approximate cost of the trip/person is $2500.

Building Bridges Human Rights project in Mexico is a grassroots group
committed
to working for human rights in Mexico. In the past, we have sent human rights
delegations and individual observers to Guerrero, Oaxaca, and Chiapas,
Mexico.
