                         MORE DETAILS:

   ===> JACKSON 2BEARS
   * Live video/audio performance - revolution you can dance to!

 Jackson 2bears is a Kanien'kehaka (Mohawk) multimedia artist
 currently based in Victoria B.C. Canada.

 "I work primarily with video and audio media as a means to reflect on
 issues of: racism, colonialism, discrimination, Indigenous
 subjectivity and Native stereotypes...My performance work is
 primarily inspired by electronic music and dj/vj culture, and uses
 the form of the remix as a tool for cultural critique. Often emerging
 as a playful take on popular Native stereotypes, these Live
 Cinema/Scratch Video remixes function as mixed-media interventions
 against extirpative and discriminatory representations of First
 Nations culture." <http://www.jackson2bears.net/>

   ===> GROUND NOISE & STATIC - subMediaTV/Pepperspray Productions
   * Vancouver Premiere of this 30-minute documentary
   * Pepperspray Productions will be in attendance to talk about the
     filming, including their arrests during production.
   * "First we fight the battle, then we fight the battle of summation"

 "A video report on the protests that occurred in connection with the
 Democrat and Republican National Conventions, Ground Noise & Static is
 a manifesto. We went to Denver and St. Paul to take the pulse of the
 movement. Corporate media would cover the platitudes and posturing of
 the politicians, we were interested in something else, a story hidden
 in plain sight, captured in the now-classic street chant, 'This is
 what democracy looks like.' Ground Noise & Static is a joint effort of
 Franklin López of subMedia and PepperSpray Productions. It is the
 direct result of a wonderful collaboration with many indymedia-style
 activists and journalists who all pitched in for the common good and
 success of their various efforts to tell their 'Unconventional'
 stories."
