On Wednesday March 12th the Alliance for People's Health and the Health Now!
Campaign will launch the Health Workers' Call for Peace and Justice.

Come learn about the Health Workers' Call for Peace and Justice and hear
presentations from grassroots and community organizations on the impacts of
unjust trade and war on people's health. Health workers, organizations, and
allies, are encouraged to endorse the Call and help spread the Call.
Speakers include: the Alliance for People's Health, Justicia for Migrant
Workers BC, Filipino Nurses Support Group, Al Awda BC, Grassroots Women.

Another world is possible! The Health Workers' Call for Peace and Justice
calls upon health workers and allies to shrug off neutrality and take a
stand against war and unjust trade. This important statement for peace
critiques Canada's role in the creation of poverty, ill-health, forced
migration, and the loss of livelihood and lives. We call on the Canadian
government to withdraw all troops from Afghanistan, halt the rapid spread of
privatization of essential health services, and divert military spending to
people's heath - a sum which exceeds $ 1.3 million per day!

The Health Workers' Call for Peace and Justice was initiated by the Alliance
for People's Health, and is a local initiative of the international Health
Now! Campaign, uniting health workers to expose and oppose the dire impacts
of unjust trade and war, the gravest barriers to people's health across the
globe.
