Study on the Impacts of War on People's Health
Date: Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008
Time: 7pm – 9pm
Location: Organizing Centre for Social & Economic Justice
Street: 672 East Broadway (at Fraser St)
Health Now! No War, No WTO, Fight for People's Health
Please join us next Tuesday as we study the impacts of war,
privatization, unjust trade and corporate plunder on people's health
worldwide. At this meeting we will examine the impacts of war and
occupation on people's health with a focus on Afghanistan, Iraq and
Haiti.
This meeting is open to all who have previously participated as well
as new members.
We will preview the Health Workers Call for Peace and Justice and
discuss the launch to take place at our next Health Now! Campaign
meeting on Tuesday, February 26th from 7-9pm. This document outlines
the roots of ill-health and calls on health workers to shrug off
neutrality and take the side of peace and justice. Help us make the
official launch in February a success by brainstorming other health
workers, unions, and community organizations who can attend the launch
and/or endorse the call.
