 SFPIRG is offering free workshops open to all SFU students and community
members. All workshops are up at SFU Burnaby campus, if you need directions
please email programs at sfpirg.ca.  SFPIRG's office and our events are
wheelchair accessible. Childcare and other subsidies are available for

*Bike Repair Workshop* – 1:30pm-2:30– Wed Feb 13th – TC326
*Community Health Workshop* – 12:30-2pm – Tues Feb 19th – MBC 2296
*Islamaphobia Workshop* – 12:30-2:30pm – Wed Feb 27th – MBC 2296
*Impact of the Olympics* – 12:30-2pm – Wed March 5th – MBC 2296

*Bike Repair Workshop*
Bring your bike or just bring yourself and learn some basic bike repair
skills including how to fix a flat tire, tips on how to keep your bike in
good working order, brakes, gears etc. This hands-on workshop will take
place in SFPIRG's Bike Tool Co-op, all tools provided, bring any questions
you have about your bike and biking.

*Community Health Workshop*
What can we do to achieve health for our communities?
· Share an analysis of structural violence, how it impacts our lives, and
the lives and health of poor and marginalized people.
· Explore the social, political and economic factors at the root of
ill-health.
· Discuss possible actions to improve community health.
· Find out about the local 'Health Now!' campaign and ways to get involved.
Facilitated by the Alliance for People's Health.

*Islamaphobia Workshop*
Moving Past The Bogeyman: Getting beyond the hype & media spin of
islamophobia and moving towards understanding its rationality, historical,
political, economic and social implications today. Facilitated by Alnoor
Gova.

*Impact of the Olympics Workshop*
Are you concerned about the Olympics? A Community workshop about the effects
of past Olympics and how people have organized against the games. Join us
for a workshop/dialogue session facilitated by Maryann Abbs and Tammie
Tupechka from Hatching Change.
