rabble.ca presents...
Sunera Thobani on race and nation in Canada
Thursday, May 8, 7 p.m. at Our Town Cafe (245 E. Broadway)
On
May 8, we’re inviting you to help us celebrate our lucky 7th
anniversary. In the coming months, we’ll be rolling out “rabble 2.0,” a
redesign that will make our site more user-friendly and interactive –
to keep you even more informed and engaged with the issues that matter.
To help fund the redesign, as well as our ongoing and expanding progressive multi-media content, we’re launching a new grassroots membership drive. We’re looking to sign up 2000 new members at (at least) $5/month, and we’ve got great gifts and prizes to help entice you to join and to sign-up your friends. Sign up today at rabble.ca/membership.
We’re
looking forward to seeing you at Our Town on May 8, to help us
celebrate and to hear from one of Canada’s leading feminist
activists/academics. Best come early, as seating is limited!
About the book:
"Questions
of national identity, indigenous rights, citizenship, and migration
have acquired unprecedented relevance in this age of globalization."
"In
Exalted Subjects, noted feminist Sunera Thobani examines the meanings
and complexities of these questions in a Canadian context." For more
