Participatory Action Research is a model for doing research with community
that promotes collaborative, respectful, and equal sharing of knowledge.
This workshop will introduce the main concepts behind PAR and other
alternative ways to conduct ethical social and environmental justice-based
research. Its main focus is how researchers can learn to apply an
anti-oppression framework to their work with community. Especially suited to
ARX researchers, but all are welcome!

Conflict Resolution
Tues Oct 16th – MBC 2292
When you live, work and play among others there is bound to be some
conflict. And conflict isn¹t bad or harmful but when it isn¹t resolved,
environments can get uncomfortable and sometimes pretty toxic. People
aren't born knowing how to resolve conflict. So this is a chance to better
understand conflict and get some tools for resolving it when it does occur.
People who attend this interactive workshop will:
* better understand conflict;
* become more aware of your style in dealing with conflict;
* practice using different modes of handling conflict.
Developing good conflict resolution skills will mean you can spend more time
living, working and playing.
Facilitated by: Marnie Goldenberg
