sharing in adopting a family at $60 per month, would empower the parents to
decide on how best to use this aide to provide for their kids.

The situation in LEBANON:

Palestinian refugees in Lebanon continue to face disastrous conditions...
The recent destruction of Naher Al-Bared Camp and the scattering of its
population underlie the severity of the humanitarian crisis confronting
them.  

The Palestinian Refugee camps in Lebanon receive very limited support from
the UN, Lebanese Government, and the PLO. Palestinian Refugees are still not
allowed to work in more than 70 professions, causing large unemployment
rates. Large families live in small spaces due to limitations on the
geographical expansion of the camps. 

The Palestinian Refugee Support Network (TAKAFUL) stepped up to offer the
option of direct financial support to families.  Your Donation would be
helping families with young children that are in desperate need of support.
We believe that the parents know best when it comes to their children and
family well-being.  Your sponsored family will receive your donation in
direct financial support (cash), and it will enable them to manage their
needs better.  Not only that, your donation will help improve the overall
community economy.  Our programs are focused on the elderly and the families
with disabled persons, who have the least chance of having an income.  

The Situation in GAZA STRIP:

Currently, the Palestinian Authority, foreign NGO's and community based
organizations are hardly capable of providing enough resources and aide to
meet the minimum needs of the impoverished Palestinian families in Gaza
Strip, especially in the refugee camps. 

The prices of food, medicine, water, fuel, and basic life needs have
increased dramatically due to receding supply in Gaza Strip, and as a result
of declaring Gaza Strip a “hostile territory” by the Israeli government.

Health conditions are also deteriorating, especially on the nutrition level,
where one third of women and more than 24% of Toddlers & Infants are Anemic.
Medical aide does not provide the answer for this crisis, but rather, it is
resolved merely by providing the means to obtain food.
