Rally Against Fox: Let this assassin know he is not welcome!

The Other Campaign Vancouver Denounces and Opposes former Mexican 
President's visit and talk on leadership at Power Within event

COME DRESSED IN BLACK!

Rally at 2 PM to 5PM Thursday, March 8th, 2007; GM Place, Vancouver

Gathering Place: at 2PM: Keefer St & Abbott St. (outside TNT 
store, near Stadium skytrain) - from there we'll move to GM Place

After 5PM, we will head to the Grassroots Women IWD March 
starting at Keefer & Columbia

The Other Campaign Vancouver is calling allies and community as a 
whole to rally and protest against the visit and talk by former 
Mexican President Vicente Fox and his wife, Martha Sahagun. Fox 
and Martha have been invited to speak on leadership at the Power 
Within motivation event at GM Place.

It is an outrage that Fox is coming to Vancouver to speak on 
leadership, when he is responsible for the deaths, rapes, torture 
and political incarceration of hundreds of women (and men) in 
Mexico, during his six years in power, not to mention the misery 
and displacement of millions of women, men and children. The 
outrage is multiplied by the fact that it is International 
Women's Day on March 8, 2007.

Just in his last year in government, Fox was responsible for the 
May 3 & 4 attacks on Texcoco and San Salvador Atenco (when over 
4000 federal, state and local police stormed the town and raped, 
beat, tortured and detained women and men, including youth and 
the elderly), and the various brutal attacks in Oaxaca. In this 
past year, women continue to be killed in Ciudad Juarez and other 
deaths remain in impunity, and many miners (in Pasta de Conchos 
and Sicartsa—Lazaro Cardenas, Michoacan) and other workers have 
died due to government brutality.

PLEASE COME DRESSED IN BLACK TO SHOW THE DEATH AND DESTRUCTION 
THAT FOX HAS CAUSED THE MEXICAN PEOPLE. Also, feel free to bring 
a print out of a photo or name of a Mexican woman killed, raped, 
tortured, imprisoned under Fox.

LET'S SEND A CLEAR MESSAGE: FOX AND MARTHA - YOU ARE NOT WELCOME!

In Mexico, dozens of people were killed in Atenco and Oaxaca! 
Dozens of women were raped by police and paramilitary forces in 
Atenco and Oaxaca! Hundreds were detained, tortured and 
imprisoned! Hundreds still remain as political prisoners, and the 
real criminals remain in impunity!
