Grassroots Women, a member organization of the Vancouver Steering Committee
of the “Stop the Killings in the Philippines” campaign, is pleased to invite
you to a fundraising dinner. Tickets for this event are available from
Grassroots Women. 

 

Grassroots Women also has available for sale commemorative pins for $10
each; proceeds have been used to bring witnesses to the Permanent People’s
Tribunal (March 21-25) and will support the ongoing work of the committee
and its Philippine partners.

Since 2001, there have now been over 850 cases of documented extra-judicial
killings and 200 cases of forced disappearances.  Under Philippine President
Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's counter-insurgency program, known as Oplan Bantay
Laya (Operation Freedom Watch), the people of the Philippines have been
living under a reign of state terrorism. Join us, as peace-loving Canadians,
we continue to answer the call of the Filipino people for support and
solidarity!
