 People's Trust Fund

For the last seven years, the People's Prom, held on Valentine's Day,
has been a night of fun and celebration, a chance to enjoy a DIY Prom.
Most importantly, the People's Prom is a fundraiser for
counter-hegemonic political action and creative resistance.

Trust Fund Objective: The People's Trust Fund is open to all
community-based groups and organizations engaged in counter-hegemonic
political action and creative resistance. The Trust Funds offers
funding to projects that are often unable to attain mainstream sources
of funding.

The Trust Fund

Who can apply? The People's Trust Fund aims to support grassroots
initiatives that focus on

a) direct action

b) counter-hegemonic community building

c) creative resistance



The Trust Fund is available to groups or organizations throughout
British Columbia.



How is the funding Allocated? Applicants are expected to generate
revenues from other sources other than the People's Trust Fund.  The
annual Trust Fund budget ranges from $1000 to $2000. Individual
project grants will range from $200-$800 depending on the scale of the
project. All Trust Fund money must be used within 6 months of
receiving it, otherwise the cheque will be stale-dated).



The Trust Fund cannot go towards:

n        Overhead: staff costs, rent, utility bills.

Additional information:

How will applicants be evaluated? The People's Trust Fund is overseen
by the Prom Committee. Trust Funds are limited and shared between
multiple community-based projects.  The Prom Committee looks at the
following criteria:

n        How would this initiative benefit the community?

n        Does it demonstrate creativity or uniqueness in the outcome?

n        How complete is the plan for delivering the activity?

n        Will this initiative have trouble getting funding from other sources?



Deadline: March 15th 2007. Must be received by 9pm.
