APC DELIVERS VANCOUVERS GARBAGE TO MAYOR SAM SULLIVAN'S DOORSTEP

STRIKE DOWN 2010!
This morning, in solidarity with the CUPE workers on strike,
frustrated residents of Vancouver and people of the Downtown East
Side, members of the Anti-Poverty Committee unloaded Sams baggage on
his front doorstep.
According to APC Spokesperson Marie Claremont, Sam refuses to
negotiate in good faith and today we are sharing the nasty reality of
everyday life in our neighborhood to encourage the city to stop
wasting taxpayer money on PR stunts and end the strike with a fair deal
that meets the needs of Vancouver's public workers."
This strike is the latest in a series of conflicts brought on by the 2010
Olympic Games and the correlating drive to further exploit
working people while displacing the poor. It has been made painfully clear
to the residents of this city that Mayor Sam Sullivan has had no interest
in bargaining with CUPE workers or in listening to the publics plea to
end the civic strike.
Sam has forced the residents of Vancouver to unload their garbage
wherever they can much of which has been brought to the Downtown
Eastside a community the Canadian Community Epidemiology Network on Drug
Use reported has a "33 per cent higher death rate than the rest of the
province."
As a result of our neighborhood being turned into a public dump, the APC
is returning the trash to its rightful owner and bringing the
class war to Sullivans front door. We are encouraging frustrated
residents in Vancouver to do the same in solidarity with the CUPE
striking to win!
Sullivan and the NPA your time is up!
