*Please forward to people who may care about the future of our region
and planet!*

This fall is an important period for the campaign to stop the expansion
of Highway #1 and the twinning of the Port Mann Bridge- your involvement
is key.

On Friday, September 22 at 9 AM the GVRD Board will meet to vote to
support or oppose the freeway expansion. This vote is important because
it is an opportunity to send a strong signal to the Provincial
Government that we as a region want a better solution to traffic
problems in the Lower Mainland.

*We intend to pack the GVRD Boardroom on September 22, with concerned
citizens who want to know that their politicians are standing up for
them. You never know, a rally might even erupt!*

As GVRD Chair Lois Jackson recently said, the Province may have the
legal authority to proceed with Gateway, but the GVRD represents over 2
million voters and its position cannot simply be ignored. We all need
to be supporting and encouraging our local politicians to stand up to
the Province and say "No" to Gateway!
If you can, rsvp and come to the meeting: Greater Vancouver
