APC Office Opening BBQ
Saturday July 29th @ 4pm
Pigeon Park (Hastings & Carrall)


The Anti-Poverty Committee invites you, your family, friends and comrades
to a summer BBQ at Pigeon Park. Together we will celebrate the opening of
our new office that is located smack-dab in the middle of the proposed
Carrall Street Greenway.

The Greenway is a gentrifying juggernaut that will destroy the fragile
community which has fought to create a space for itself. City planners
have given the green light to create ‘a lane bridging Chinatown to
Gastown’. This plan is basically a ‘divide and conquer’ strategy that will
split the Downtown Eastside. The lane will be a militarized corridor
patrolled by violent police, unaccountable private security and video
surveillance.

By opening our office on Carrall Street in the historic 327 storefront we
will be in position to mobilize the community against this attack. We will
also offer direct advocacy for people fighting issues around welfare,
housing and police brutality.

So please come out and enjoy the food and support the struggle!
