Co-Coordinator BC Health Coalition
The B.C. Health Coalition has available a half-time contract position to job 
share the position of
Coordinator of the BC Health Coalition for the period of one year.
DUTIES:
· To assist the Health Coalition with the long-term and day-to-day 
administration of the organization
including webpage design and update, answering correspondence, phone calls, 
maintaining elists
and e-lerts.
· Attending Steering Committee and Coalition meetings, participating in daily 
and strategic decision
making around issues of concern for the coalition, recording minutes of 
meetings, circulating
materials to committee and Coalition members.
· Provide leadership in developing and supporting campaigns re public health 
care
· Design communication materials including fact sheets, media releases, 
posters, flyers, etc
· Assist in developing membership and financial base of the Coalition by 
recruiting new member
group and individuals to the coalition
· May attend and represent the Coalition at community meetings, and other 
coalition functions
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Experience in grass roots community organizing and working with the trade 
union movement
essential
· Experience in reporting to coalition-type community board structure
· Ability to deal with leadership and representatives of Coalition 
organizations
· Experience in designing communication materials for popular distribution and 
dealing with media
· Experience in developing, planning and supporting public campaigns
· Experience in lobbying
· Ability to speak in public.
· Knowledge of public health care issues
Asset: The Coalition is looking in particular for someone who can bring 
communications, web-based
design and data-base skills to the organization.
Flexible hours of work, average of 17.5 per week. $23 per hour. Travel may be 
required. Job-share
duties to be reviewed at the end of 6 months. Contract may extend past one 
year.
