Mobilization Against War & Occupation (MAWO) Meeting
*Wednesday January 18, 2006
*6:30pm
*at the Britannia Community Center (1661 Napier St, on Commercial Dr at
Napier St)
The last couple of days alone have been explosive for the occupation forces
in Afghanistan with 3 bomb attacks by resistance forces in only 24 hours.
The bomb blast early Sunday morning caused crisis for the Canadian
occupiers, killing the political director for Foreign Affairs Canada in
Afghanistan and critically wounding 3 other soldiers. In response to this
MAWO has called an emergency picket action for Tuesday January 17 at 12noon
at the Canadian Armed Forces Recruitment Center. The picket is to protest
Canadas participation in the occupation and press the urgent call for an
independent public inquiry into Canadas war drive in Afghanistan. This and
much more action is needed to push for more awareness of Canadas criminal
role in this occupation and to oppose it effectively, building a movement to
stop it.
To take this necessary action, everyone is encouraged to come out to this
weeks MAWO meeting to organize for the 4th Student Week Against War and
Occupation (starting next week!) and for when we take to the streets again
on January 28th for the demonstration demanding US/UK Out of Iraq! and
Canada Out of Afghanistan!
See you at the MAWO meeting!
