Educational discussion on the relationship between political Islam and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict
The Palestinian Human Rights Committee, a student run club at Simon Fraser University, will be hosting an event with Graham Fuller on the relationship between political Islam and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The event will take place tomorrow February 9th, at the Halpern Centre located at the SFU Burnaby campus, (8888 University Drive, Burnaby) at 3:30pm.
Graham Fuller is an Adjunct Professor of History at SFU. Educated at Harvard, he
is the author of seven books on Middle Eastern politics. After serving for twenty years
in the US Foreign service in the Muslim world, Fuller served as Vice-Chairman of the
National Intelligence Council of the CIA. He later worked as a senior political scientist
for the RAND Corporation to conduct research on the Muslim world.
With the recent Hamas victory in Palestine, and threats of financial aid being cut off to the Palestinian Authority, the Palestinian Human Rights Committee believes it is a pertinent time to understand the processes of political Islam and its implications in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
