Yo Folks.

Circulate following to your media contacts and allies and apologies
for cross-posting. Out of towners, let your Saltwater City family
and friends about our stroll. We'll have petitions to sign,
strike a blow for democracy and get some exercise (of rights
and legs too, of course)!

Kokuoho Rice (Linda Hoffman, Joyce Chong, Sean Gunn and John
Greenaway) will be performing at the Powell Street Festival on
Sunday at 2:30pm on mainstage. Inside scoop is Head Tax Blues
is on their playlist. Also, no luck club will be performing at
the Dragonfly Festival in Cates Park in North Vancouver on
Sunday August 13. They are supportive of redress and their tune

Is there appetite for a fundraising dinner/event when Collen Hua, CCNC
national president, is in town Sept. 8 - 11? If not, ACCESS, a CCNC
chapter, will organise a small dinner/discussion as redress groups need
to be clear what page we are on and what steps will be taken.

Can't wait for the weekend. The stroll, PSF, lotsa fun, sun, food and
meeting old and new friends. Oh, come by when I'm dispensing good luck
from 3pm - 5pm Saturday and Sunday at PSF raffle booth!

Chinatown Stroll for Chinese Head Tax/Exclusion Redress

Vancouver, BC –  The BC Coalition of Head Tax Payers, Spouses and
Descendants will mark the upcoming long weekend with a Chinatown Stroll.

Date:  Sunday, August 6, 2006 – BC Day weekend
Time:  10:00am call time – stroll to begin shortly after
Place: Sun Yatsen Garden east entrance
       Corner of Columbia and Keefer Streets, Vancouver

The Conservative government recently imposed a redress package unilaterally
and ignored and rejected calls from head tax families for a just and
honourable redress.

The BC Coalition of Head Tax Payers, Spouses and Descendants are today's
Chinese Canadians. We welcome all Canadians to join us in this quest for
justice and honour for our Chinese pioneers and their families.
