The Downtown Eastside Housing Plan is the latest proposal being made by
the City to social cleanse the community in preparations for the Olympics.
The Plan that is being taken to City Councilors calls for a massive
increase in condo development. Such an increase will displace thousands of
residents and further push people in need away from community services.

Join various grassroots organizations that are actively fighting Olympic
gentrification and demand to City Councilors and City Planners:

1. An immediate moratorium on condo development in low-income communities!
2. That the City develop and implement an anti-vacancy by-law and that all
units to be converted by the City are done from vacant housing stock! 3.
That the City up holds and enforces the ‘Anti-Conversion’, ‘SRA’ and the
‘Maintenance’ by-laws!
