Please spread the word about the following event. (Extra material
attached.)********************************************************************
You are cordially invited to participate in a celebration of
International Peace Day on Sunday September 18th, from 2 - 4 pm in front of
the Vancouver Art Gallery, at West Georgia and Hornby.
Join us in song and dance as we help to create a culture of peace and build
momentum for the World Peace Forum, to be held in Vancouver, June 2006.
This exciting event features First Nations drumming and dancing, a sacred
circle dance led by Corinne Chepil, the Solidarity Notes choir, and the
Carnival Band. Witness the very moving and powerful Movement for the Masses,
and light a candle for peace.
Under the direction of the `Wild Wandering Sage' we guarantee our colourful,
joyous and thoughtful event will lift your spirits and renew your energy.
Come celebrate: join us Sunday afternoon, September 18th, to build peace
throughout the world!

********************************************************************
The World Peace Forum was created by the Peace and Justice Committee of
Vancouver. Cities and local authorities, acting with community support, can
effectively contest the one trillion dollars a year spent on global
militarism; just one third of this amount could immeasurably improve global
conditions in the developing world, while giving local and regional
governments more resources to provide quality housing and community
services. The challenge is to co-ordinate the networks of civic and social
movements to work towards a peaceful, just and sustainable world.
