Dear Friends,

On a global level, clean air and the protection of our
environment for future generations are top issues on the international
political agenda. Yet right here in our local neighbourhoods of East
Van we are about to choke on smog resulting from poor transportation
decisions that harm our health and the environment.

We need to protect our environment and neighbourhoods, and there are 
strong concerns about current plans to widen Highway #1.

Will this expansion mean more traffic, noise and pollution flooding into 
our community?
