APC Legal Defence Committee
Monday May 9th
251 Union Street (Buzz 900)
6 p.m.
All APC members and supporters are invited to participate in the
legal defence campaign to defend our organisation and to fight
back!
Given the escalating use of arrests and violence by the Vancouver
Police Department against the APC, a legal and proactive
committee is needed to respond to ongoing assaults and trials.
Currently, close to a dozen APC members are facing charges and/or
awaiting trial for four different incidents. The Legal Defence
Committee ensures that our struggle being waged in the streets
will continue in the courts, while keeping in mind that our
organisation will not be consumed by the legal process.
The objective of the committee is both defensive, through
fundraising and legal assistance, and offensive by continuing to
challenge the police and fight this system of economic
inequality. How these campaigns manifest depends on our
collective participation in strategising through this committee.
So please, if you have any history in legal defence or want to
educate yourself, come to our ongoing meetings. Only together can
we fight back!
