SEFAC Foundation is teaming up with Code Pink Vancouver and New
Society Publishers to present the 'Better World Handbook Festival', on
March 26th, at 50 East Pender St., next to the beautiful Sun Yat-Sen
Gardens.

This Festival is organized around The Seven Foundations of a Better World
- Economic Fairness, Comprehensive Peace, Ecological
Sustainability, Deep Democracy, Social Justice, A Culture Of
Simplicity, and Revitalized Community

Each foundation will be covered by having panels, speakers or
workshops
providing information on our current challenges followed by one of the
authors of 'The Better World Handbook' leading people through simple
actions they can take to support each foundation, including one action
taken on the spot for each session.

Participants will be provided "Action Packs" which will contain a
variety of small tools that participants can use to make a difference
around these issues right away! Throughout the festival there will be a
deep emphasis
on offering functional alternatives and solutions to the challenge of
living an ethical and fulfilled life.

There will be various ongoing musical performances all day by
musicians, such as Rascalz, Moka Only and Siren's Echo as well as
multicultural dance performances. Adding to the festive atmosphere will be
the sponsors' community fair, in which several socially
conscious businesses will set up fun and interesting demos, games and
product samplings. We will also have creative entertainment ranging from a
funny and engaging 'activism video gaming challenge', to
political puppet shows and 'sustainability field trips', and a
screening of the award-winning documentary 'The Corporation'.

We will host booths from several charities and grassroots groups that are
doing incredible work that many people may not be aware of, due to
under-funding and a lack of resources. We hope to help give them a chance
to keep making a difference by raising awareness about their organizations
and building community among like-minded groups and
individuals.
