North Vancouver, British Columbia -

The Fulcrum Project is excited to announce the release of The Fulcrum
Project’s STAND – an eclectic CD made up of opera, street punk, folk,
Celtic, blues, and jazz. It was created to raise awareness about poverty in
BC today and the need to make ending poverty an election issue.

Long-established as well as new- and upcoming-musicians contributed to The
Fulcrum Project’s STAND: UHF, the North Shore Celtic Ensemble, ryan andrew
murphy, Miranda Frigon, Fabiana Katz, Pauline Le Bel, Jay Knutson, Greg
Kelly, Newspeak, The Rebel Spell, Coquitlam Celtic Ensemble, and Miranda
Frigon.

The price of the CD is $5.17 to reflect our Provincial Election date: May
17, 2005.

To order a copy of this CD or for more information on The Fulcrum Project,
please check out our website:
<http://www.thefulcrumproject.org/>www.thefulcrumproject.org . Revenues
from this CD will go to those who support our goals of ending poverty.

The Fulcrum Project is a group of people that met at “The Future of
Poverty” series held at SFU Harbourfront over two years ago. Since then,
they have been working on four initiatives to undo the misconceptions that
surround those living in poverty, and to ensure that ending poverty is at
the forefront of the election campaigns for our Provincial Election. They
are simply a group of people wanting to do something. The four projects are
our website, our art shows, this CD, and a community discussion on poverty
planned for April 2-3.

This CD has been a long time in the making. No one had any experience or
contacts within the music world ... or so it felt at the beginning. Most of
this CD was put together from people volunteering their time and talent to
get it made and a lot of “I know someone who knows someone who can ...” It
has been as grass roots as making a CD can get!

BCTF’s Social Justice Advisory Committee generously provided the money
needed to have the CD reproduced.
