Yo radical folk of BC!!
Are you enraged by the losses we have endured during the Liberals reign?
Do you feel like you've been betrayed by the City of Vancouver? Or any
municipal government for that matter?
Thinking of doing some kind of creative resistance?
Need money?
Well, it is that time again...
Time to apply for funding from the People's Trust Fund!! The 5th annual
People's Prom was held on February 14th and over 300 people came out to
raise money for grassroots groups engaging in creative resistance
highlighting key provincial issues for the upcoming election as well as
supporting actions directed at local change.
* DON'T JUST VOTE. DO SOMETHING! *
While brooding over our plans for *promtastic* world domination we
realized that the BC Liberals are only one of many stumbling blocks
preventing the people of BC from building the world they want to live in.
We recognized that local governments have a significant impact on peoples'
day to day lives and we wanted to honour creative resistance at that
level.
* DON'T JUST VOTE. DO SOMETHING! *
All proceeds raised from the people's prom are put into the People's Trust
Fund which is then given away to groups working in the community for
social change. Each year a particular cause is chosen that money will be
raised for. Money has been given out to groups here in Vancouver and to
groups through out BC. Here's where the money has gone in the past:
2004: Groups fighting against cuts to welfare
2003: Groups organizing against the BC Olympic Bid
2002: Groups fighting against Gordon Campbell and the BC Liberals
2001: Groups working against the proposed FTAA
How To Apply
If you are a small/grassroots/radical group who isn't funded and are

you are and what you're doing. Deadline for applications is March 15th
2005. Funding will be allocated in the spring.
Please spread this email far and wide, as we want to support the work of
