THE NEXT ORGANIZING MEETING OF MOBILIZATION AGAINST WAR AND OCCUPATION (MAWO) IS...

This past week saw several successful actions to mark the first anniversary of the US/Canada/France invasion and ongoing UN occupation of Haiti. On Saturday, there was a picket organized by the Haiti Solidarity BC Committee endorsed and supported by Mobilization Against War and Occupation (MAWO). Later that day, participants then went to join a rally and march organized by MAWO with a lot of energetic students, youth, people from the third world and other communities. This cooperative and coordinated action was a positive step for the Vancouver anti war/anti occupation movement in organizing a united front against imperialist war and occupation. 
 
Looking ahead, beginning this week we will be planning and organizing for the March 19-20 international days of action to mark the 2nd anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. We need to begin building and getting the word out for the demonstration and the conference for these dates to educate, mobilize and demand: "No to Occupation! Yes to Self-Determination!"
