Opening night performance at gallerygachet on Friday, March 4, at 8pm with
a reception starting at 7pm. Its a Mask-er-aide Fundraiser with admission
by donation, and an opportunity for the audience and community to celebrate
and dress up in mask and costume (optional). The opening night lineup
includes: D'Mask, Hanky Head, Thought, Cross Walk, Perhaps, Group Therapy,
and Violet's Cocktail Party. The Masks We Wear performances start at 8pm,
and run for six nights: March 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19. An additional
community mask-making workshop is scheduled for Saturday, March 5 at 3pm. A
late-night cabaret is also planned for Friday, March 18.
The Masks We Wear Project is an interdisciplinary project devised by
Artist-in-Residence S. Siobhan McCarthy of the absolut theatre co. As an
experimental workshop/lab/rehearsal series, to date over two hundred
actors, visual artists and members of the general public have dropped in
and made masks, and explored the character behind the mask. Throughout this
workshop/rehearsal series participants have worked on creating images,
scenes and choral pieces. The culmination of the work created by the
participants comprises an innovative installation of the masks and the
performance series at gallerygachet. Gallery hours for the installation run
Wednesday to Sunday 12-6pm. For more information visit

4. Website Designer Contract
Gallery Gachet is seeking a qualified web designer who has entry level or
substantive experience working to assist non-profit organizations with
their online presence. Gallery Gachet has a website which meets some of the
organizations objectives, but in other areas, it is seriously lacking. We
are looking for someone to work collaboratively with us to change the site
so it maintains some of the nice Flash-heavy components, while providing
access to more people and more browsers.
The newly developed site should be more accessible and not require Flash
software to access basic program information. Also, the website as a whole
should not be so specialized in its coding make-up that only a
webmaster/designer can change it. Build in the capacity for Gachet
volunteers and staff to perform routine updates and file uploads. More job
details available at http://www.gachet.org/community/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=30
Renumeration:
$1000 honorarium, with work to be performed in March and April 2005, with
fee paid in two installments.
To apply:
Resumes to be accepted until March 6, 4pm. Fax resume to 604-687-1196 or
