There's at least 1 event aimed specifically at trans folks & queer women - I've copied & pasted it below the general info.
Cheers, Devon

Queer Sista's and Trans Folx Get Down
Saturday March 26th / Pub 340 / $5
In collaboration with Meegan Mulstaid, the director of Rock for Choice and the Under the Volcano Arts and Activism festivals, Sista'Hood 2005 will include a night of music, drag and spoken word from Vancouver's queer community.
Bronwen & Ila
The collaboration between Bronwen Tigar & Ila Kavanagh was born as a vehicle to explode presupposed sonic limitations and to express different musical languages. Using flute, beatboxing, accordian and voice, these two women make music for real humans, instead of an army of fashionable robots.
Ivan E. Coyote
Ivan Coyote was born and raised in the Yukon, but currently inhabits an attic in East Vancouver, where he writes books, lists, and funny stories. Funny poignant. Yep. That's Ivan's specialty.
Katastrophe (aka Rocco Kayiatos)
Katastrophe is a hot-shit, somewhat reclusive, over analytical, FTM emo-hop MC who rocks the mic, charms the ladies and educates the masses. With his tongue-twisting rhyme style, political frankness and a disarming sense of humor, he has become a primary player in the growing national queer hip hop underground. His unapologetic, ferocious and heartfelt performances are challenging notions of normalcy while inspiring the people to get off their seats and get movin'. Katastrophe's debut LP Let's F*ck, Then Talk About My Problems, is tight and should have any hip hop head bobbin'.
Che: Chapter 127
East Van politically-charged, hip hop-loving, hardcore-slinging, sneaker-wearing, hard-of-hearing, punk ass motherfuckers who hate that lazy journalists always compare us to Rage Against The Machine when only one member of the band likes them. No drum solos assholes. Only rock. Sponsored by Skull Skates & Red Bull. Band members: Oldman Anderson (not really old, but married), Blackness of Ion, BigRig McBrain, Brando Used-to-be Vonshmando, & Mr. Smallfry Milkshake. Thank you.
