          Vancouver: Meet at Victory Square (Cambie & Hastings)
                         9:30am - Buses leave 9:45am

                Victoria: Meet at Centennial Square 1:30pm

APC is continuing to organize for the demonstration in Victoria on
Tuesday, February 15th.  In terms of logistics and finances, the biggest
project is the transportation of activists and supporters from Vancouver
to Victoria and back on that day.

FOR THOSE WHO INTEND TO TAKE THE BUS:

We are requesting that anyone who is planning to take the bus from
Vancouver to Victoria on the 15th please let us know, so that we can be
sure to have enough room for everyone.  Please contact us by e-mail or
phone (apc at resist.ca or 604-682-2726) to let us know if you would like a
spot on the bus.

FOR ANYONE PLANNING TO GO BY CAR:

If you are taking a vehicle to Victoria and have any spaces available,
please contact us and let us know.  Again, e-mail or phone (apc at resist.ca,

FOR ANYONE WISHING TO MAKE A DONATION:

Please send a cheque or money order made out to "Anti-Poverty Committee"
to P.O. Box 1, 12 East Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC V6A 1N1.  If it is
more convenient, money can be deposited directly into our bank account at
any branch of VanCity Savings Credit Union (the account is listed under
Anti-Poverty Committee).

Original Call-Out:


Tuesday February 15th the Liberals make their Speech from the Throne and
APC will be there! Over the years the mass ‘Fight back’ against the
Liberals has all but died away. Grass root organizations that struggle for
real justice have refused to retreat and have been fighting the Liberals
and the agenda of social cleansing tooth and nail. We call on all such
individuals and organizations to take our struggle to Victoria, to the
Legislature, to the Liberals themselves and let them now loud and clear
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Preparations for a coordinated political disruption of that day have
begun. We will, threw the many contacts we have established across the
province, disrupted as many Liberal government offices as possible. We
encourage individuals and groups unable to join us in Victoria to target
local offices and disrupt them either physically or by jamming their fax
and phone lines.

The offices we will target will be management and we will ensure that none
of the few services still available to the people are effected. If you or
your group would like to take on an office contact us and we will provide
you with all the information you will need.

Fundraising will be essential to finance the trip across the Straight. We
call on financially able supporters to pitch in some money to pay for
buses, boat and food. We will work on raising enough funds to be able to
provide free transportation for those who can not afford the trip on their
own. We estimate the cost of one person to be fifty dollars. Please
contact APC to make a financial contribution in solidarity.

Leading up to the day of protest a lot of support will be needed to pull
this off. To get involved in the planning, show up to APC meetings. Have
meetings in your own groups and communities. Research government offices
in your area.

The APC does not pretend to take ownership of the anger of poor people. We
are just a group of people doing what we can with any means available.
Solidarity is what gives us all power. The demands made on this day of
protest will be the unified demands of the people. By working in
solidarity with one another we will defeat this government and fight for
real justice and dignity. United we will win!
