Monday August 15 is a day of solidarity with Cindy Sheehan, the mother of a 
U.S. soldier killed in Iraq who is gaining international attention camping 
out front of George W. Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas, to demand a meeting 
and to protest the occupation. Take a moment to fax, email or call in your 
support. The message below was orginally sent out by the Toronto Coalition 
to Stop the War (nowar.ca).

Cindy Sheehan is a member of Gold Star Families for Peace (www.gsfp.org) and 
Military Families Speak Out (www.mfso.org) who lost her son Casey Sheehan, 
24, a US soldier killed in Sadr City, Iraq in April 2004 - only five days 
after being deployed.

Since last weekend, Cindy has been camping out on the road leading to George 
Bush's summer ranch in Crawford, Texas demanding that she meet with him to 
talk about the war in Iraq. Contrary to what Bush, Cheney and the rest of 
the administration have been saying, Cindy believes that the best way to 
honour the fallen troops in Iraq is to bring the remaining troops home and 
end the occupation immediately.

Her protest has attracted military families from all over the United States 
who are now converging in Crawford, Texas to support her demands and to meet 
with Bush. So far, he is refusing to meet any of them.

Activists and supporters from across the US and around the world are also 
sending messages of support. The Toronto Coalition to Stop the War is 
calling on its members and supporters to do the same.
