                     THE SAFE STREET ACT!!
                    Saturday April 9th 2 PM
               Victory Square (Cambie and Hastings)

This Saturday afternoon join the Anti-Poverty Committee in our
demonstration against the Safe Street Act (SSA). We will use direct action
and civil disobedience to fight the SSA physically. We will participate in
the street-level work that is now illegal. We will squeegee and panhandle.
We will aggressively target the businesses responsible for social
cleansing. We will fight for change!

The Vancouver Police Department has begun harassing and ticketing poor
people with their new laws. Now is the time to physically intervene and
make the Act unenforceable. By defending street involved workers by
joining them in their struggles we will be able to defeat the SSA in the
courts and on the streets.

It is our intention to be ticketed under the new act. We will then
collectively challenge the law in court. If you or anyone you know has
been harassed or ticketed please contact the APC and we will fight all
