WORLD FEDERALIST MEETING 

TOPIC: Prospects For The United Nations

Jim Carney, documentary film writer and producer, gives his personal view of the workings of the UN, the difficulties the organization faces, and the kinds of support required from both nations and civil society.  

>From 1983 to 1986 Mr. Carney served in Nairobi, Kenya, as Chief, Division of Information, Audio-Visual and Documentation, United Nations Centre for Human Settlements, and was Commissioner-General of the United Nations Pavilion at Expo '86.  In 1995 he received the United Nations Association/Canada medal for having made an exceptional contribution by a Canadian at the international level and related to the United Nations.
 
Followed by discussion and refreshments.

TIME: Thursday, October 21, 2004 at 7:30 pm 

LOCATION: Unitarian Church Centre, 949 W.49th Ave. at Oak St., Vancouver.
