The 3rd VAACC was a resounding success!

The Vancouver Parecon Collective presented a workshop under the title of
“Alternative Economics”. Various economic models were presented with the
intent to foster debate and discussion about where we as people feel we
should be going. Thanks again to the Vancouver Parecon Collective for their
hard work!

They were followed by a workshop entitled “Art and Resistance”. Presented by
members of SFPIRG, the workshop delved into the role that art plays in
examining and breaking down the barriers created by various forms of
alienation. Attention was drawn to the infinite avenues through which our
creative expression can take shape. Thanks guys for the great work!

As a conclusion to the evening we discussed the various elements that could be
included in a ‘basis of unity’ (BOU) for the VAACC. We examined an assortment
of other groups’ BOUs and then pulled out the components we felt worked well.
An agreement was reached that a draft BOU would be presented at the next
VAACC, with revisions and the final copy created there.

Thanks to everyone who helped organize and put on the 3rd VAACC, your hard work was
appreciated! (and so were your sandwiches
)
