Wild in the Streets
a week of anarchist culture and action

Over the past year, anarchists in Vancouver have been organizing movie 
nights, social events and actions in an effort to strengthen the spirit of 
resistance in this city. With summer upon us, we thought it would be a good 
time to up the ante and kick off a week of anarchist culture and agitation.

"Wild in the Streets" will include two movie nights (and possibly 
discussions after the movies), an anarchist punk show, a picnic and shopping 
cart race, and an action to fight the recent police crackdown on Commercial 
Drive and the ongoing blight of the Community Policing Centre in Grandview 
Park.

Wednesday, June 2nd - Squatter Movie Night: The Frances Street Squats (a 
documentary of Vancouver's Frances Street Squats in 1990) at the Purple 
Thistle (3-1163 Commercial Drive, 8:00 pm)

Thursday, June 3rd - Anarchist Punk Show: with Iskra (brutal anarchist punk 
with a harsh metal influence) from Victoria, and more bands to be announced, 
at the Stupid TV Babies Go Mad House (1342 Georgia Street, 7:00 pm)

Friday, June 4th - Anarchist Movie Night: Libertarias (a fictional account 
of the anarchist women's movement in Spain during the Civil War) at the 
Purple Thistle (3-1163 Commercial Drive, 8:00 pm)
Saturday, June 5th - Anarchist Picnic/Potluck: Food, Music, Soccer, Info 
Swap, Shopping Cart Race (in Grandview Park on Commercial Drive, 1:00 pm)

Sunday, June 6th - Action Against the Police Occupation of Commercial Drive: 
starting outside the Broadway and Commercial skytrain station at 4:00 pm.
