Spring Caravan & Rally May 19 & 20/04

SPRING CARAVAN: VANCOUVER DEPARTURE
Please join us as we caravan to Victoria for the Title and Rights Alliance Spring 
Conference and Rally in Victoria, May 19-20, 2004.

On May 19th-20th, members of treaty, non-treaty and independent First 
Nations from all over B.C. will come together with leadership from the Union 
of BC Indian Chiefs, the First Nations Summit, the North West Tribal Treaty 
Nations; and the Haida Nation for a Title and Rights conference. This 
conference is the third of a series of unity conferences being held to inform 
and unify our communities so we may stop further infringement of our rights 
by government and industry. Registration for this conference is free. 

The conference will begin with a caravan from communities throughout BC and 
culminate in a rally at the closing of the Legislature on May 20th. The 
Vancouver contingent will be departing May 18th. 


May 18       Vancouver Departure (Tentative schedule only! Any changes will be announced)

11:00 am    Meet at Science World Parking lot (Quebec Street entrance)

11:15 am    Caravan from Downtown Vancouver to Tsawassen via Oak Street

1:00 pm     Meet with Northern and Interior nations' Caravan at Tsawassen BC Ferries 
Terminal (reservations recommended)

2:35 pm     Arrive in Saanich Territory (Shwartz Bay Ferry Terminal)

3:30 pm     Arrive at Songhees Reserve (free camping...first-come-first-serve)

May 19       Title and Rights Conference--Pearkes Arena, 3100 Tillicum Rd., Victoria

9:00 am       Registration

12:00 pm     Lunch

4:30 pm       Closing

4:45 pm       Shuttles leave Pearkes Arena for Songhees Big House

6:00 pm       Dinner hosted by Songhees Nation

May 20         March and Rally to Legislature

9:30 am        Gather at Songhees Reserve

10:00 am      Continue Caravan by motorcade to Princess Mary Restaurant Parking Lot

11:00 am      March to Legislature (1.7 km)

12:00 pm      Rally -speakers TBA

2:00  pm       Close

Note: If you don't have a vehicle, there may be seats available in the caravan, 
please call 604-684-0231. Caravan participants are responsible for their 
own expenses, accomodations, camping gear, meals, gas, ferry cost etc. The 
Title and Rights Alliance and participating organizations are not liable 
in the case of accidents, thefts, death and short-funded travellers or 
other.

Don't forget May 18/04 Surrounded by Cedar Rally meeting at the totem pole in 
Beacon Hill park. Vancouever's Gathering at Supreme court on this day to 
meet with BC. & Yukon Aboriginal Women Centre/Council, NWAC and 
amnesty international's representative.



Please note that May 18/04 has been set aside as a day of action for ending and bring 
awareness to all forms of violence against women.
2pm there will be a demonstration at the Vancouver Courthouse. 
In Victoria people will be meeting at the pole in Beacon Hill Park and walking to 
the Legislature at 12:30pm

The BC Aboriginal Women Council and the LAIRD from the Yukon will be going us. 
A thousand plus unionized workers are out of work living on EI soon to be IA and 
taking a job training course on how to flip burgers for minium wage.

How Many more women will die of poverty?
