Understanding McLuhan

Where:
UBC Robson Square, 800 Robson St., Vancouver.

When:
Tuesday, 6th of April 2004 from 7:30 PM until approximately 9:00 PM

Cost: Free to attend

Public discussion with Dr. David Staines, professor of Literature at University
of Ottawa, co-editor of Understanding Me. Former student and long time
friend of Marshall McLuhan, Canadian media guru. Dr. Staines will discuss
the relevance of McLuhan in today's multimedia, global communications
environment. The goal is to make the often impenetrable theories of
Marshall McLuhan more easily understood, and to foster greater awareness
of the effects of media upon the individual. An absolute necessity for
anyone with a passion for understanding the state of communications in the
world today.
