Vancouver Status of Women will be holding a 
PUBLIC EDUCATION FORUM ON WOMEN AND POVERTY

WHEN:    Sunday March 28th, 2004   2-8 pm
WHERE:  Collingwood Neighbourhood House - 5288 Joyce St. 
                (Joyce Skytrain Station, Vancouver)
COST:     Sliding scale $0-50. Sliding scale is an anti-classist concept, which means that those 
                with less pay less and those with more pay more.

REGISTERATION IS REQUIRED DUE TO SPACE LIMITATIONS.

Presenting:
  a.. Vancouver Status of Women's Women and Welfare Project 
  b.. A conversation between Jean Swanson (anti-poverty activist and author of "Poor Bashing" ) and Sunera Thobani (feminist anti-poverty activist) 
  c.. Artist Displays and Performances 
  d.. Information Tables 
  e.. Group Discussions around poverty and strategies for change
The main objective of the forum is to increase public awareness around poverty issues and poor-bashing in relation to women within a global, national, and local context.  

The forum is open to the community. Dinner will be provided.  Childcare, ASL interpretation, and bus tickets will be available, (when registering for the event, please let us know if you require the above accessibility resources).
