Exciting Leadership Opportunity Available with
Progressive Established Non-Profit
The Access to Media Education Society (AMES) is a registered charity
dedicated to promoting socially responsible image production and making
media training and technology accessible. Since our inception in 1996,
over 300 socially and economically “marginalized” individuals (mainly
youth) and organizations have created a total of 100 short films,
videos, and public service announcements (PSAs) during our fully
subsidized programs. Our films consistently win praise and awards for
their distinctive vision; but the true reward is seeing how, by 'getting
the word out', they inspire audiences, empower communities, and help
create conditions for change.
AMES’ is ready and open for new opportunities and new experiences. We
are seeking an Executive Director to work closely with our Board of
Directors to lead this change. You are a builder with an inventive
approach to everything you do. You must have project co-ordination and
creative problem solving skills, and share our values. Successful
candidate will be experienced in working with a wide spectrum of
stakeholders from funders to grass roots organizations and be familiar
with all aspects of New Media.
If you are interested in a unique challenge working with youth and
organizations for social change follow the links below to learn more
about the work of AMES in the community and read about our board, staff,
volunteers and mentors, and hear testimonials from film-makers who have
benefited from our programs.
The ED’s salary is paid through project funding. It is, therefore,
dependent upon the number and size of projects undertaken.
