Axis to Grind: Inside North Korea 2-week photo exhibition opens

Douglas College Library, 2 blocks from New West Skytrain Station

Irwin Oostindie’s work, which includes large-format photographs and film 
clips, shot on both sides of a divided Korea, offer a uniquely human look at 
North Korean life and expose American misrepresentation of one of its last 
cold war enemies. The Douglas College Library, in New Westminster, hosts 
this exhibition of his photographs, March 15-26, 2004.  The CBC, Canada’s 
national public broadcaster, features Oostindie’s North Korea images in 
an online presentation titled Northern Exposure at www.cbcradio3.com/issues/2004_01_09/index.cfm?page=08

*	ARTIST TALKS: March 18, 12-2pm + March 19, 7pm, Room 2201.
*	LOCATION: The Library is readily accessible at the centre of the campus.
*	TRANSIT: Take Skytrain to New Westminster Station, walk out of station, turn left and 
walk up hill for 3 minutes, College is on the right side. Total travel time 25 
minutes from downtown Vancouver.
*	PARKING: pay parking is available.
*	GALLERY HOURS: Monday - Thursday 7:45am - 10:00pm; Friday   7:45am - 5:30pm; 
Saturday 9:00am - 5:00pm;     Sunday Closed
