SFPIRG workshop- POSTER POLITICS

Conducted by Andrew Thompson
In this workshop, participants will learn to identify graphic design
elements and apply them to the project of producing activist posters.
Focusing on questions of representation, communication and aesthetics,
participants will evaluate the effectiveness of various activist posters
before finally making their own. This workshop involves hands-on problem
solving, theoretical discussion and the production of a poster using
graphic design equipment.
ANDREW THOMPSON is a Toronto-based activist and writer. He is Communications
Officer for CUPE Local 3903, representing Teaching Assistants and
Contract Faculty at York University, and sits on the editorial board of
Critical Times - a newspaper devoted to the struggles of education workers.
Expect to see
Andrew's first full book, Black Bloc: Genealogy of the Riot, sometime in 2004.
~~~ SFPIRG is SFUs student-run environmental and social justice centre
located at TC 326, 2 floors about the bus stop. Childcare, transportation,
