[van-announce] Volunteer with Vancouver Status of Women

Vancouver Status of Women will be holding a volunteer information session for women interested in volunteering with us. We are a women's centre in East Vancouver dedicated to resource development, research and activism. We are currently working on the Women and Welfare Project and updating our Welare Resource Guide for Women and Anti-Oppression Work.

Our next volunteer information session is:

VSW needs new volunteers for some exciting changes!  To compensate our funding cuts, VSW IS MOVING TO A NEW LOCATION! We need volunteers to help us with VSW's Move Committee. Duties include:

1) organizing, archiving and packing VSW's resources:  look through files and boxes, laugh at VSW's work in the 1970s and pack em' up

2) assisting the Move Coordinator with logistical support: coordinating volunteers, dealing with movers 

3) organizing a VSW garage sale 

4) become an interior decorator: Have a knack for vision? Know your soft colours? We need you!

If you would like to volunteer here, we are awesome people to spend your summer with.  To confirm your attendance, please call Sharmeen at 255-6554 or email her at womencentre at vsw.ca. 

If you cannot make the information session, but would still like to volunteer, please contact Sharmeen for an individual meeting.
