[van-announce] March With QUAK @ Pride

We Recruit....

QUAK will be marching once again at the queer Pride parade this year.
Unlike past years where we have sabotaged Liberal MLA Lorne Mayencourt and
the Vancouver Police Departments entries by bursting in front of them, we
have decided to officially enter the parade this year.

We will be meeting on Sunday between 10:30am and noon on Alberni between
Bidwell and Denman in the West End. Anti-capitalist queers and allies are
welcome to join and march with us. Look for the yellow ducks.

We ask all folks who march with us to dress up and have fun. Our focus
this year will be on the Liberals, the police and corporatization of
Pride. Feel free to dress up as piggies/cops, in drag, or whatever else
you feel like dragging out of the closet. Dressed up bikes and riders are
also welcome.

Remember to bring water and a snack because it can be hot in the sun. We
will also have a car that can drive folks if they can not walk the whole
distance (please email quak at resist.ca to book space).

Rotten Fruit For A Rotten Fruit...

If folks can't march with us but will be watching the parade, be sure to
hurl plenty of venom and insults at Mayencourt, the cops and the other
right wing jerks that march. Remind them they are not welcome in our
parade or in our communities. And we expect lots of love from you as we
pass ;)

Look for our "Proud of What" poster and flyer attacking Mayencourt's Safe
Streets Act and other policies. It will also be a full page ad in the
follow-up issue to Pride in Xtra West.
