Anticapitalist Convergence
2/28/2004 6pm
Dogwood Centre
706 Clark Drive
East Van
The intention of this gathering is to bring together Vancouver area anti-capitalists for a frank discussion of the current state of affairs. By having this discussion it is hoped that those attending, whether as groups or individuals, will come away with a more cohesive understanding of what it is we [as anti-capitalists] are doing. Particular issues that need to be discussed include: clarifying what is meant by capitalist (as in, not something you get rid of with social democracy), assessing what strategic and tactical goals/aims we must we working towards regionally, the possible establishment of a broader federation of those currently seeking the abolishment of the capitalist economy, etc
[YOUR IDEAS HERE: additional topics for discussion should be sent via email to acpmaction at resist.ca]
WHO:
The intention as mentioned above is to bring together Vancouver area anti-capitalist groups and individuals. I emphasize that this should be interpreted as those who ARE taking action as we speak and/or those who WISH to get active. This is not a panel of speakers, a lecture, or a presentation. This is the first of potentially many area-based dialogues through which we can make our movement grow and create a viable left politic so sadly missing in contemporary society.
