Broadcast Sunday February 15 at 1:00PM and midnight and Tuesday February
17 at 10:30AM on Shaw cable 4 in Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley.
EarthSeen is a volunteer ICTV Independent Community Television
Co-operative production thanks the British Columbia Environmental
Network Educational Foundation for its assistance.

1. Uts'am (Witness) is a 13 minute video by Jeremy Williams, a frequent
contributor to EarthSeen. Since 1996, several thousand people have
attended the grassroots and volunteer run Witness Project, which
recently received western Canada's highest award in the category of
cultural tourism. After five years of filming, Jeremy Williams offers us
a glimpse into the magic that is the Uts'am/Witness project. In this
documentary he explores the concepts of dialogue, ceremony, art,
ecology, and home.

2. "Jump" is a rap/hip hop performance by students at Vancouver
Technical School. From the musical "H2O" with book and lyrics by Gloria
Davies and music by p. b. sky, the tune is from a workshop production
directed by Gloria Davies, co-directed by Ramona Orr with musical
direction by Michael Louw.

3. Tom Perry interviews Larry Wong of the Chinese Canadian Historical
Society about the future of the Barkerville historic site. Scheduled to
be "devolved" by the provincial government, Larry provides a good
summary of what is in store, who to contact and what can be done. Go to
www.barkervillecoalition.com <http://www.barkervillecoalition.com> and
www.barkervill.ca <http://www.barkervill.ca> for more information. The
interview was taped at the Interurban Gallery at 9 East Hastings in
Vancouver. The background set consists of artwork by Charles Forsberg.

EarthSeen thanks the British Columbia Environmental Network Educational
Foundation, PHS Community Services Society, Interurban Gallery and
Charles Forsberg for their help with this program.

If you want copies, set your VCR to record it. Or ask a friend. It takes
a lot of time to respond to requests for copies, especially since this
is volunteer community television and we have hard costs for tapes,
transportation and refreshments.

EarthSeen broadcast because ICTV exercises its entitlement to access
Shaw cable 4, the cable community channel. Citizens are served poorly
when community groups have difficulty accessing the community channel, a
public trust. Let the regulator, the Canadian Radio-Television and
Telecommunications Commission, at procedure at crtc.gc.ca
<mailto:procedure at crtc.gc.ca> know what you think about Shaw running
community television in Vancouver. Shaw's license renewal is up in
August 2004.

suggestions for programming.
