Winter 2004: The Homeless Marathon

BURNABY, February 4th, 2004 — CJSF 90.1 FM, the campus-community radio
station from Simon Fraser University, is airing Canada’s 2nd Annual
Homelessness Marathon.	Tune in for 14 hours of consciousness raising radio
beginning on Friday, February 13th at 8PM until10AM on Saturday, February
14th.  

This broadcast originates from the streets of Montreal, and will include
panel discussions, an open microphone on the street, pre-produced pieces,
and call-ins.  The marathon provides an opportunity for homeless people and
their advocates to take on the airwaves, and for a nationwide discussion on
homelessness issue.

CJSF 90.1 FM is a non-profit, volunteer-run, campus-community radio station
broadcasting 16 hours a day from Simon Fraser University.  It aims to
provide programming content rarely heard in the mainstream media, including
a variety of music shows from all genres and special interest spoken word
programs covering the arts and social justice issues.  CJSF also offers
training for interested volunteers and aspiring programmers.
