Practicing Democracy's Legislative Report is Ready!
Official Presentation to Vancouver City Council
May 6th, 2004 at 2:00 pm in the Council Chambers
of the City Hall

The innovative solutions to the danger created by years of cuts to social
services offered by audience members that attended Practicing Democracy,
have been gathered in a Legislative Report by Legal Expert Carrie Gallant.
We have forwarded the report to Vancouver City Council and we are please to
invite you to its official presentation Thursday, May 6th at 2:00 in the
Council Chambers. Council meetings are open to the public. We appeal to your
continued participation in this historic event, since it's the first time in
North America that a governing body is taking citizen's input through such
an innovative format.
Your attendance at the Legislative Report presentation will show City
Council the fundamentally democratic nature of this Legislative Theatre
experiment.

*** The Earth Symposium: presented by Dance Arts Vancouver
>From April 28 - May 2, 2004, the world's youth, artists, educators, and
activists will converge in Vancouver to explore the relationship between the
arts, youth, the environment, and civil society. Launched by DanceArts
Vancouver, the Earth Symposium, Breaking New Ground, is the opening
international event of the UNESCO designated Earth Project, a four year
multi-national arts initiative that examines issues of global sustainability
and social justice through the eyes of young people. David Diamond will lead
a one-day workshop this coming Friday, April 30th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
at the Segal B Room No. 1410 Harbour Centre, 515 West Hastings St.
Registration will take place Wednesday, April 28 from 2 to 6 pm.

*** Unexpected Productions presents Augusto Boal May 3rd-5th 2004
Unexpected Productions is bringing Brazilian Director Augusto Boal, founder
of Theatre of the Oppressed to Seattle on May 3rd-5th, 2004 for a three day
workshop in his improvisational theatre techniques. This is his only stop
north of San Francisco and his first trip to Seattle in many years.
Workshop: May 3rd-5th from 3 PM - 8 PM each day. The cost for the three day

Headlines' Alumnus and MOSAIC staff member Victor Porter, is dedicating his
participation in the 2004 Vancouver Marathon (May 2) to refugees. He is
running to raise money for the Canadian Council for Refugees. You can join
